About INTECO
The National Institute for Communications Technologies (INTECO) is a state-owned company promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (MITT). INTECO is an nstrument of the Spanish Government "Plan Avanza" for Information Society development and ICT competitiveness and its main pillars are innovation, provision of services, and training.
INTECO's main activity, as a contracting party of the State Administration, is to provide ICT technical services. Its competences are ICT security, accessibility and quality. INTECO also provides agility to the State Administration, generating trust, ICT competitiveness and guaranteeing rights.
Through State mandates, INTECO is committed to achieve results and fulfill the objectives signed in the agreements, facilitating the development of turnkey projects and e2e solutions for each customer case and special needs (state administration, regional autonomies, municipal administrations, etc.), specialized in ICT security, accessibility and quality.
The strategy of INTECO is based on three fundamental cores:
- The promotion of the Trust in the Information Society Services, increasing the trust of the citizens, organizations and companies, particularly of the SMEs, in the services of the Information Society and boosting in this way the use of the information technologies.
- The provision of services for the Public Administrations in the areas of specialization with the consequent creation and contribution of added value that would lead to better public services.
- The promotion of the innovation and value in all the fields of action, a sign of identity of INTECO as a technological institute.
One of the most important activities developed by INTECO is the elaboration of the Catalogue of ICT Security Solutions and Companies, on which the Taxonomy of ICT Security Solutions is based, representing the core topic of the document available above. On the occasion of this conference, INTECO has prepared an English version of it.
